Gabby & I in “Jersey”

This post is long overdue! I mentioned a few posts back that Gabby and I were moving from good ol’ Brooklyn to New Jersey. Well we finally moved a few weeks ago. Let me tell ya ,Bergen County in NJ is wayyy different then Brooklyn.

We live in like suburbia now! I’m so used to living in a city. I can hear crickets at night! Lol The closest I’ve ever come to living in a quiet place like this was when I spent my summers in New Hampshire. Now don’t get me wrong. I don’t hate it. Its just something I have to gradually get used to.Right now I’m really missing all the bodegas that surrounded my old apartment! lol

The area is really nice and I feel safe. The elementary school by our house is awesome. Luckily there is public transportation near by since I am NOT a driver. (That has to change soon!) It’s only about a 30-40 min bus drive into NYC on average via bus. Not too bad..Theres a huge shopping mall not too far away. And I recently discovered a playground by our house. haha

The only part I’ve been hating is my commute to work. Did I mention I work in Brooklyn? Holy cow! Two hours each way to and from work is killing me! Not to mention killing my wallet. However,hopefully things in the job front will be changing soon. I’ve recently been offered an awesome opportunity. Thanks boss man!

Overall, I am VERY happy we moved. I LOVED living in Park Slope. The area is amazing! However, I hated our over-priced apartment. NYC is awesome but way too expensive to live in.I think New Jersey will be good for us. Plus we’re not too too far from NYC. =)

I’m excited for new friendships and adventures in the Garden State!
