Frugal Friday

Gabby has been outgrowing her clothes like crazy! So lately I’ve been trying to slowly but surely build up her wardrobe. She went from having tons of shoes to only a few pairs that fit her. I managed to snag a few stylish pairs at PAYLESS recently for her.

I spent about $30 for both pairs of shoes. Payless usually has pretty awesome sales going on, both online and in store. My favorite sale is the BOGO they have quite often!

Another awesome deal I found this week was at OLD NAVY.  The prices were unbelievably cheap! I managed to snag Gabby 5 items for $8.86! I’m sure I could of found more but I HATE digging through sale sections.

I was so happy to snag some goodies for my little princess. I even got a sweater and skirt for myself for under $15!

I feel like right now (AFTER CHRISTMAS) is the perfect time to shop because of all the amazing sales going on!

Have you guys found any super amazing deals lately? Please share! =)

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas enjoyed the holiday amongst family and friends. I had a lovely time with my little family. It was so nice to see Gabby excited to open all her gifts this morning. After opening gifts we relaxed at home for a little bit then headed to the movie theatre. We saw Alvin & The Chipmunks : Chipwrecked. It was a pretty good movie. We then headed to the playground for a bit since the weather was surprisingly mild. All in all it was a nice Christmas. I’m looking forward to the new year which is right around the corner! Happy Holidays!

Home Sweet Home

Gabby’s school had a couple of fun activities planned out for the kiddos this month. One of a activities was a project we had to complete as a family,”Home Sweet Home”. This is what we came up with…

Gabby ,her daddy and I worked really hard on the project. We wanted to win 1st place! We had a really great time working on the project. Although her father and I aren’t together, I’m really glad we get along. It makes things so much easier. Drama free is the way to be!

When I picked up Gabby from school today I was happy to see we won something. We didn’t get 1st place. We didn’t get 2nd either, but we did get 3rd. =)

Gabby was excited to have won something. Along with the cool certificate (which is now hanging on our fridge), Gabby also won a playdough set. She had fun making cookies out of playdough when we got home.

Angelina Ballerina The Very Merry Musicial

Angelina Ballerina- The Very Merry Holiday Musical was a delightful treat to attend! Angelina and her friends are getting ready for the holidays, instead of giving each and every person in Mouseland a gift ,they decide to put on a holiday dance pageant! However, they encounter a little problem along the way.Using their creativity they are able to save the show and spread holiday cheer in Mouseland!.

Gabriella and I had a really great time at the show. Gabby loved seeing her favorite character’s sing and dance. The cast did an amazing job at bringing Angelina, Alice,Gracie, AZ, Marco and Angelina’s little sister, Polly to life. I would definetely recommend The Very Merry Holiday Musical. This is a great holiday treat for your family to enjoy!

The Shelter Pet Project

If you are thinking about adding an addition to your family,a pet that is, then I would highly recommend adopting a pet from a shelter. Gabriella’s dad and I are going to most likely be getting her a dog for her birthday this upcoming March and we are definitely going to adopt from a shelter. Why adopt from a shelter? For starters when you adopt a pet you’re making space for another animal to be housed at that shelter. Also, many animals end up being euthanized each year, so  by adopting from a shelter you are helping to decrease that. Even better is that most animals adopted at shelters are already vaccinated and fully trained. Pets from a shelter are more affordable and even free sometimes, although the joy they will bring to your family will be priceless!

A great source for learning more about pet adoption has been The Shelter Pet Project. The Shelter Pet Project is a collaborative effort between two leading animal welfare groups,The Humane Society of the United States and Maddie’s Fund and The AD Council, the leading producer in public service advertising (PSA) campaigns. The Shelter Pet Project is a great tool to search for a pet. All you have to do is input your zip code into the search engine and it locates pets in nearby shelters. Included in your search results are stats on your potential pet and a brief little bio. You can also input your zip code to locate nearby shelters.

If you are unable to adopt then volunteering at a shelter is also very helpful. Most shelters are non-profit organizations so their main priority is the animals and finding them a home. Donations are always very extremely helpful as well. So even if you are unable to adopt a pet, you can still make a difference in their life by helping out.

Help increase animal adoptions and spread the word about The Shelter Pet Project.
